Argentine football legend Diego Maradona now is staying in Kolkata for a three-day visit. He arrived in Kolkata on Sunday at 8:00 pm (local time).
He will pass busy hours today (Monday) in Kolkata. He is supposed to deliver a long interview to the cancer affected patients in Salt Lake under the arrangement of Sreevum Club. He will also unveil a 25-feet sculpture of himself at this afternoon.
The iconic footballer is also scheduled to play a charity football match against former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday at Barasat, West Bengal.
Maradona, who is now coach of the Dubai-based club Al-Fujairah SC, is accompanied by partner Rocio Oliva.
The trip was originally slated to take place in October but was postponed several times. This is the former Napoli star's second visit to the eastern metropolis.
The 1986 World Cup winner first came here in December 2008 when thousands of fans gathered to welcome him past midnight at the airport.
