Country's both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- saw negative trends in early hours of trading Sunday, the first trading session of the week.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) shed 16.43 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse also went down by 32.34 points within first one hour of the day's trading.
After first 60 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index DSE lost 16.43 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 6,231.79 when the report was filed at 11:32 am.
The two other indices also saw downward trend till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed 6.09 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 2,257.97 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 4.35 points or 0.31 percent to stand at 1,385 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1,037.81 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 126 advanced, 124 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged.
Legacy Footwear dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 74.50 million changing hands till then, followed by BD Thai Aluminum, Simtex Industries, Square Textile and Fine Foods.
However, the port city bourse - the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - losing 32.34 points to stand at 11,664 points, also at 11:34 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 54 gained, 65 declined and 25 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 37.46 million.
