Two economic zones will be established in Jessore, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (Beza) Paban Chowdhury announced on Monday.

While exchanging views with the local reporters at the Circuit House after visiting four sites in the district, he said one economic zone will be set up in Arabpur of Sadar upazila while the other in Sharifpur of Jhikargachha.

Given the potential, Jessore can have the country's third biggest economic zone after Dhaka and Chittagong, the Beza executive chairman said.

He said entrepreneurs from different countries, including India, can invest in the two economic zones.
