Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Wednesday termed Begum Khaleda Zia as the associate of militants and said she needed to be kept out of power.
“If she returns to power she would sponsor militants more aggressively than before and rehabilitate anti-liberation elements”, said the minister speaking at a public meeting at Fulbaria, here, organized by his party Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal.
Inu said "She (Begum Zia) was engaged in the politics of vengeance that is the reason she launched arson by fire on the common masses. It is the same reason that prompted her to organize assassination attempts on Sheikh Hasina," he said.
He also said that Khaleda Zia was “anti-national”.
Inu said that all pro-Liberation elements needed to be united to stop Khaleda's return to power and continue on the fast-track development of the country under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He introduced Syed Shafiqul Islam Mintu as a parliamentary candidate and said Fulbaria would grow tremendously if he was elected.
The meeting was also addressed by other central and local leaders of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal.
