Famous folk singer and flautist Bari Siddiqui is critically ill and on life support in the intensive care unit at Square Hospital in Dhaka.
He was rushed to the hospital on Friday night after he suffered from a cardiac arrest.
His both kidneys are ineffective and he is also suffering from diabetes, according to doctors.
Siddiqui was awarded the Bachsas Award for his music direction in the film Srabon Megher Din (1999) for the song Showa Chan Pakhi. He was awarded for his singing not for composing.
In 2000 April, he released a folk album titled Lokhkho Tara.
He was born on November 15 in 1954 in Netrokona district.
