The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday as enthusiastic investors are on buying spree.
After first one hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse gained 31.59 point up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 42.69 point.
DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 31.59 points or 0.50 percent to 6,283.74 at 11:32 am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 13.31 points or 0.58 percent to stand at 2,291 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 12.69 points or 0.93 percent to stand at 1,376.
Trade deals stood at 37,097 with volume of transactions at Tk 2,337 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 163 advanced, 82 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 218.27 million changing hands till then followed by LankaBangla Finance, Shahjalal Islami Bank and IDLC Finance.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed upward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index gaining 42.69 points to 11,774.60 also at 11:32 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 83 gained, 42 declined and 23 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 221.50 million.
