Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has laid emphasis on building a knowledge based-society to eliminate poverty in the country.
"We have made good progress in different development areas as the present government has implemented a number of projects in its current tenure," he told a function in Magura.
Lawmakers Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud, Dr Biren Shikdar, Major General (Retd) ATM Abul Wahab and Kamrul Laila Joly, Prime Minister's Assistant Private Secretary Saifuzzaman Shekhor and General Secretary of Magura District Unit of Awami League (AL) Pankaj Kundu, among others, addressed the function with President of Magura District Awami League Tanzel Hossain Khan in the chair, reports BSS.
Kamal said the government is working sincerely to build a "Sonar Bangla" as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"If this trend of development continues, the people of the country will get rid of the curse of poverty," he added.
