The University Grants Commission (UGC) has cautioned the students that the government won’t take the responsibility if any pupil is cheated by getting himself/herself admitted to any unapproved campuses or unapproved programmes of private universities.
It also directed the students to take information about approved campuses and programmes of private universities from the UGC website (www.ugc.gov.bd).
The UGC, in a public circular on Wednesday, said that various unapproved institutions, taking names of universities, are giving attractive advertisements in the national dailies for enrolment of students in various programmes and courses, even in MPhil, MS and Phd courses.
It feared that the students might be cheated by getting themselves admitted to those unapproved institutions.
The UGC also cautioned the guardians not to enroll their wards with the fake universities.
The Ministry of Education and the UGC did not give approval to any branch, campus and study centre of foreign universities till date for pursuing academic activities.
