Bangladesh Bank (BB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) ), a multilateral institution and a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, aimed at formalising relationship and establishing a basis for communication and exchange of information between the two entities.
The MoU signing ceremony was arranged by Foreign Exchange Policy Department (FEPD) of Bangladesh Bank and took place at the BB head office in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release. Bangladesh Bank Senior Officials and high officials from ICIEC, Islamic Development Bank Group (IDBG), Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) were present in the ceremony.
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Ahmed Jamal and ICIEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Oussama A Kaissi signed the MoU on behalf of both organisations.
Commenting on the MoU, BB's Governor Fazle Kabir said the MoU will take the relationship between two entities to a new standard that will ensure benefits for both parties.
BB Deputy Governors SK Sur Chowdhury and SM Moniruzzaman also attended and addressed the event.
