An eight-day Chinese film-festival and photo exhibition will begin in the city on Tuesday as part of series of programmes marking the ‘Year of Friendship and Year of Exchanges’ between Bangladesh and China.
Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu will inaugurate the Chinese film week and photo exhibition at the National Museum in the city, said an official on Monday.
Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, China Radio International and Chinese Community living in Bangladesh are jointly hosting the event in an effort to make the cultural bonding between the two countries stronger.
Earlier, a three-day pre-event photo exhibition was held on Thursday last that depicted lovely moments through Chinese and Bangladeshis friends’ cameras.
Bangladesh and China have dedicated 2017 as the ‘Year of Friendship and Exchanges’ between the two countries as they are now heading towards a ‘promising future’.
During Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Dhaka visit last year, Bangladesh and China agreed to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries.
