Webster University, an over-a-century-old higher educational institution in the United States, has announced scholarships for Bangladesh students.
Ms Ashley Grierson, Director of the university for South Asian region, made the announcement at a press conference at Nordic Hotel at Banani in Dhaka on Sunday (Nov 5).
She said Webster will offer the scholarships, under various categories depending on merit, to the students who will register their names for admission to the upcoming January session during the stay of Webster delegation in Bangladesh until Nov 17.
Bangladesh office of T&T Consultancy, a global education consultancy firm based in the UK and local marketing partner of Webster University, organised the press conference.
T&T Consultancy CEO Ifti Ahmed and Director Brig Gen (retd) Md Latiful Haider, and Country Representative of Global University System Siddiq Rahman will also spoke at the press meet.
Ashley said her university offers part-time jobs to students during their courses and helps them secure full-time jobs after completion of their courses.
T&T officials said the Webster delegation will visit Chittagong on November 7.
They said normally a university student has to pay US $40-70 for application form but application through T&T Consultancy does not require any student to pay that fee.
The T&T officials said they show students the right path to apply for admission to other universities of the world too.
