A five-member delegation of China’s Kunming University, led by its Vice-president Zhang Zuwu, met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at his office on Friday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, especially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic, research and training programmes by the two universities.
Exchanges of teachers, students, researchers and cultural teams between the two universities were also discussed at the meeting, and the both sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding soon in this regard.
Mentioning that an excellent friendly relation between Bangladesh and China has been prevailing for a long time, the DU VC apprised the guests of a brief history of the university as well as academic and research activities.
Other team members of the delegation included Prof Luo Jun Yan, Prof Mo Nan Ming, Prof Chen Jing and Dr Fan Chuan Zhang.
