It is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s 44th birthday today (Wednesday).
Even though Aishwarya is regarded as one of the most beautiful women in the world, her selling point has always been her impeccable acting skills. And Aishwarya is one of those actors who has made her name in Bollywood without any family backing. Even when the stars were not really shining for this girl, she put in her hard work and dedication to cross every hurdle.
Starting her career as a model in the 90s, Aishwarya was featured on the 1991 American Edition of Vogue. In the 1994 Miss India pageant, Aishwarya became the first runner-up after Sushmita Sen and was crowned Miss India World. She later went on to win the Miss World Crown held in South Africa as well. Ash continued with her modeling projects till she made her debut in the film industry with in 1997 with Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Iruvar alongside Mohanlal, Tabu and Revathy.
After a few films, her first hit came in the form of the 1998 Tamil drama Jeans, which was later even submitted as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards for 1998. Aish was last seen in Karan Johar’s candyfloss Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in the role of an Urdu poetess. Next, she also has Fanney Khan lined up with Anil Kapoor.
But despite knowing all about her success story, in her early years when she was a struggler too. She did several television commercials and charmed her way through almost all of them.
