8 of a family burned in Demra “gas leak explosion”

Eight people, including two minor boys, of a family have sustained burn injuries in a gas line explosion at a house on Alamin Road in Konapara area in the city's Demra.

 

The injured were identified as Arif, 35, Ratna Begum, 18, Shipon, 7, Emon, 18, Ferdousi, 35, Tofazzal, 22, Tasim, 2, and Alamgir, 40.

 

Rasel Sikder, duty officer of Fire Service Control Room, said the gas line went off at the kitchen in the top floor of a two-storey building on early Monday morning as there was a leak in the gas pipe line, leaving the eight people injured.

 

Later, the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 4:00 am said Bachchu Miah, in-charge of the hospital's police camp.
