Speakers at a seminar on Thursday said Bangladesh can become the number one medicine exporting country in the world if pharmaceutical industries get wholehearted cooperation from the government.
Bangladesh has the prospect of becoming the top medicine exporting countries in the world as people of the country have courage and patriotism, they said.
They made the remarks while addressing a seminar in the capital.
Former president of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) and managing director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd Abdul Muktadir was the key discussant at the seminar.
In his speech, Abdul Muktadir said the quality of Bangladeshi medicines is good compared to other Asian countries.
Technical feat and quality of Bangladeshi medicines are best in the world, except for some countries of Europe, America and Japan, he added.
“We need approval of some Contract Research Organisations in order to produce some medicines on clinical research,” Muktadir said.
Several crore of taka will have to be invested to examine the medicines of some good companies for exporting such drugs to different countries, he explained.
If it is possible to examine such drugs in the country, then huge foreign currency could be earned, he added.
