Anti-British movement leader Jasim Uddin Mondal passed away at a city hospital on Monday morning due to old age complications.
The veteran communist leader breathed his last at 6:00 am at Health and Hope Hospital at Panthapath in Dhaka, said Rubel Ahmed, public relations officer of the hospital.
The 95-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital on September 28, he said.
Comrade Jasim was later shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital at 8:47 pm on Sunday as his condition deteriorated.
Born in 1922, Jasim Uddin took part in the anti-British movement.
He joined the Communist Party in 1940.
