A farmer was killed and another injured in a road accident near Satmile Bazar on Jessore-Jhenidah highway on Thursday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Zahurul Haque, 40, son of late Moksed Biswas.

AKM Ajmal Huda, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the accident took place when a Jessore-bound three-wheeler hit a battery-run rickshaw van from behind around 11:00am, leaving Zahurul and Sirajul injured critically.

Later, locals took them to General Hospital where Zahurul succumbed to his injuries while Sirajul was sent to Dhaka as his condition has deteriorated.

A case was filed.
