Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Monday said Bangladesh will continue its efforts to put pressure on Myanmar diplomatically as the government believes in diplomatic solution to the problem.
"The only solution to the problem is to send back the Rohingya refugees to Myanmar ensuring their security; there is no alternative to it. The government believes in diplomatic solution not military action," he told a press conference at the Secretariat.
Describing various steps taken by the government about Rohingyas, he said Bangladesh will continue its normal relations with Myanmar as a neghbouring country until they sever the diplomatic ties.
Bangladesh is emphasising the implementation of recommendations made by the Annan Commission, formation of probe committee of the United Nations to investigate genocide in Rakhine State, persistent dialogue and making international organisations more active, he said.
Meanwhile, the minister alleged that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was conspiring centering the Rohingya issue.
She (Khaleda) is doing politics over Rohingya crisis and trying to use the issue to weaken the anti-militant movement, he said.
