‘Drug peddler’ held at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a suspected drug peddler along with Indian liquor and Phensidyl syrup from Ghiba village in Sharsha upazila early Wednesday, UNB reports.


Tipped off, a team of BGB conducted a drive at Ghiba village in the early hours and arrested Nazrul Islam, 45, son of Mazibur Rahman, from there.


During the drive, the law enforcers recovered 15 bottles of Indian liquor, 180 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from his possession, said Lt. Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of 49 BGB battalion,


A case was filed with Sharsha Police Station.
