A week-long programme, including photographic exhibition and screening of documentaries by Department of Films & Publications (DFP), began in the capital on Wednesday marking the 42nd death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.

Screening of documentary on the life and works of Bangabandhu and a digital exhibition of his photographs were organised on the occasion.

Information Secretary Martuza Ahmed inaugurated the programme on DFP premises. He said secular spirit of Bangabandhu and his charismatic leadership had inspired millions of Bengali people to join the Liberation War in 1971.

The information secretary said that Bangabandhu wanted to establish exploitation free society and implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) could help build such a society.
