Doctors ‘steal kidney in the name of operation’ in Rangpur

A child has allegedly died due to fake treatment of doctors of a private clinic named VIP General Hospital in RK Road of Rangpur.

 

The incident took place on Tuesday midnight. Six persons, including one nurse and two attendants, have been arrested in this connection.

 

Quoting relatives police said on July 9, Medha was admitted to the hospital for the operation of upper abdominal hernia.

 

He was taken to operation theatre on Tuesday night.

After two hours, a nurse came out of the operation theatre and informed that he has died. Soon after the incident, doctors, including Hhrinnoy Kumar, a physician of Mithapukur Upazila Health Complex, fled the hospital. Later, the body of the child was recovered from the operation theatre.

 

Relatives of the deceased alleged that in the name of hernia operation, the doctors have killed the child and taken out two kidneys. No responsible person was present in the hospital on Wednesday morning.

 

Confirming the incident, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station ABM Zahidul Islam said, they are preparing to file a case in this connection.

 

“We have already arrested six persons and operation is going on to nab the owner of the clinic and others culprits,” the OC added.
