Facebook lifestyle group “Funtaseum” has set an example that this new technology can be used to perform wonders and bring smiles to the faces of children.
The group has gifted special Eid clothing to 130 handicapped children with the intention of making their Eid a little brighter.
Friday, June 16, 2017 was a day full of joy and cheer for the children of Mahiganj, Rangpur’s Base Autism School.
They were all delighted to receive colorful new clothing for Eid. And behind all this joy was the Facebook-based volunteer group Funtaseum.
A program was arranged on school grounds for this occasion. The program was presided over by the Founder and Director of Mahiganj Base Autism School Abdur Rahman Babu.
Funtaseum’s administrators Rifat Ara and Tonmoy Khandakar, former Sub-district Chairman, Chairman of Metropolitan Jatiya Party Mostafizur Rahman Mostofa, notable businesspersons Mr. Lokman Hossain Mollah, Abdur RabPatwary, Chairman of Mahiganj Press Club Babloo Nag, Reporter Iqbal Hossain and other prominent members of society were present at the event.
When asked why such an initiative was taken, Funtaseum’s administrators Rifat Ara and Tonmoy Khandakar replied that they’ve been helping underprivileged and handicapped children for while now. As a group, Funtaseum started its journey on January 18, 2017.
The number of total group members has already exceeded 27,000. This group is considered somewhat different from other Facebook groups. They have already taken valuable steps towards promoting and ensuring women empowerment and safety.
The group also shares informative posts concerning general knowledge, English studies, arts & crafts and job for the betterment of its members. They have also arranged motivational talks by bringing in motivational speakers. To keep the group clean, Funtaseum does not allow commercial, offensive or spam posts.
