Priyanka Chopra to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award

Priyanka Chopra has made her mark in the West, first with her TV series 'Quantico' followed by her Hollywood debut film 'Baywatch'.

Now, the actress has another reason to celebrate. Priyanka is all set to receive the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award in a new category that has been introduced by the jury - the 'International Acclaimed Actress Award'.

The 'Mary Kom' actress, who has done the country proud with her achievements in the international circuit, will be the first recipient of this award. It is not yet confirmed if PeeCee will attend the award ceremony that will be held on June 1.

That's not all. Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra too will be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the Best Film category for her maiden production, 'Ventilator'.
