The Law Almuni Association of BRAC University has organised a seminar titled “Exploring a Legal Career in Bangladesh: An interaction with the Experts” at BRAC University (BRACU) in the capital, says a press release.
The seminar was aimed at helping law students take steps in the arena of a legal profession.
Adul Matin Khasru, MP, a senior advocate at the Supreme Court and chairman of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Bar Council; Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah, a former Appellate Division judge; and Professor K Shamsuddin Mahmood, Dean, School of Law, BRACU, were present as special guests at the event on Wednesday. They shared their valuable insights in the field of the judicial system, Bangladesh Bar Council and legal education.
Advocate Adul Matin Khasru asked the student to devote themselves to legal profession to establish justice as well as to be accountable to the people for whom they work for and represent.
To become successful in this profession, one must continue to pursue knowledge, he emphasised.
While speaking at the seminar on Wednesday, Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah advised the students to become hard-working and also to take advantage of opportunities to improve knowledge and skills to improve the quality of law practice.
BRACU law alumni, some of whom are successfully practicing law around the country, delivered their views on practicing law at the High Court and district courts, the press release adds.
