Police cordon off Jhenaidah 'militant den'

Police along with other law enforcing agencies, recovered a large amount of arms and explosives from a suspected militant den in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Friday evening.

They also recovered some suicide vests and pressure-cooker bombs from the hideout, claimed police.

Jhenaidah police super Mizanur Rahman said, “They have cordoned off the house on suspicion that militants use it as a hideout. But there is no one in the house now. It is assumed that there are explosives. Police are waiting to conduct drive there.”

The owner of the house Abdullah converted his religion--from Hindu to Muslim--five years ago.
