Sanjeeb Utsab Udjapon Parishad to host Sanjeeb festival in TSC

Commemorating the birth anniversary of the multi-talented and unconventional singer Sanjeeb Chowdhury, Sanjeeb Utsab Udjapon Parishad (a committee to celebrate Sanjeeb Chowdhury’s birthday), has organized the ‘5th Sanjeeb Festival,’ at Sanjeeb Chatwar  in TSC of Dhaka University on December 25.

 

The participants include Bappa Mazumder and Dolchut, Joy Shahriar, Parvez, Tarun, Chitkar, Paridhi, Ghunpoka, Gankabi, Arjan, Nonta Buiscuit, Anuran, Tri-banjon, Farhad and Dhaka University Cultural Society.

 

Sanjeeb Chowdhury was a creative artist, writer and journalist. He co-founded the popular band ‘Dolchhut’ with Bappa Mazumder. With his charismatic endeavor ‘Dolchut’ presented many popular songs like Ami Tomakey Bole Debo, Sada Moila, Samudra Santan, Jochona Bihar, Amake Ondho Kore, Gari Cholena, Bioscope etc.

 

He took his graduation from Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University. He made Bengali folk songs an integral part of our urban life. His creativity in the world of journalism began a new horizon.

 

Sanjeeb Chowdhury was born in the village Makalkandi at Baniachong upazila in Hobiganj district on December 25, 1964. He has died on November 19, 2007 by bilateral cerebral stroke. The premature death of Sanjeeb was an irreparable loss for the world of music and journalism.
