A female constable has filed a case against her former husband-- a sub-inspector of Rangunia Police Station-- for allegedly violating her.
The victim, now posted at Tiger Pass police camp in the port city, filed the case with the Chittagong Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribnal-1 against Sanjoy Das on Monday.
Victim’s lawyer Sakhawat Hossain said Sanjoy, a resident of Burhanuddin upazila of Bhola district, had developed love affairs with the female constable, hailing from Nilphamari.
Later, he married her on December 22, 2013 after converting to Muslim.
Following marital discord, Sanjoy divorced her in 2014.
On June 6 last, the victim went to the officer-in-charge of Rangunia Police Station over the realisation of alimony.
However, Sanoy took her to his residence near the police station and raped her forcibly, Sakhawat claimed.
