The body of a young man who went missing following a boat capsize in the Teesta river in Dimla upazila on Tuesday was recovered on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Makbul Hossain, 25, son of Azhar Ali, a resident of Kaliganj village of the upazila.
Abdul Latif Khan, union parishad chairman of Purbochatnai union of the upazila, said an engine boat carrying 40 day labourers and farmers capsized in the river on Tuesday afternoon while they were returning home around 3.30pm.
Makbul went missing while others managed to swim ashore.
Locals found Makbul’s floating body in Jharsingeshwar area in the river around 11.30am and informed police.
Later police recovered the body from the river.
