‘’Thief’ lynched in Laxmipur

A suspected thief was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Charkadira in Kamalnagar upazila early Friday.

 

The deceased was identified as Abul Hossain, son of Abdul Haque of Andarchar village under Sudharam police station in Noakhali district.

 

Asam Mahatab Uddin, superintendent of Laxmipur Police said, a gang of thieves numbering 4/5 entered the house of a Siraj Uddin around 3am.

 

After being resisted, they stabbed the house owner which left him injured.

 

Hearing hue and cry, local people rushed in and chased the gang.

 

At one stage, they caught Abul Hossain and gave him a good thrashing, leaving him critically injured while the others managed to flee.

 

Later, critically injured Abul was rushed to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
