Public procurement bill scrutinised

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Planning Ministry on Thursday completed the scrutiny of the Public Procurement (amendment) Bill 2016.

The committee at its 25th meeting also finalised its report on the bill to place it in the House, said a Parliament Secretariat handout, reports UNB.

The meeting was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.

Committee members Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, state minister for planning MA Mannan, Shawkat Ali and Md Tajul Islam attended the meeting.

Earlier on May 3 last, the amendment bill was placed in Parliament with a proposal of raising the ceiling of public procurement to Tk three crore from the current amount of Tk two crore under 'limited tender method’.
