Members of police, detectives and divers of fire service, in a joint-drive, today recovered five wireless sets, three bags containing over 200 improvised explosive devices (IED) and other explosive substances from Diabari canal of Uttara in the capital.
Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media wing Md Masudur Rahman confirmed the news.
"On the basis of secret information, the searching started here at about 11:40 am. It still continues," he told BSS at about 3pm.
Earlier, on June 18, police recovered seven travel bags containing 97 pistols, 462 magazines, 1060 bullets, 10 bayonets and 104 bullet-making dices. Subsequently on June 19, one carton magazines was also recovered from the same canal.
