BFUJ, DUJ leaders mourn Santosh Mandol’s demise

Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the death of senior journalist Santosh Mandol.

 

In a joint condolence message, BFUJ Acting President Jafar Wazed and Secretary General Omar Faruque and DUJ President Shaban Mahmud and General Secretary Sohel Haidar Chowdhury recalled the contribution of Santosh Mandol to the field of journalism, reports BSS.

 

Santosh Mandol's death is an irreparable loss to the profession of journalism, they said.

 

The BFUJ and DUJ leaders prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

 

Santosh Mandol, a former senior reporter and acting chief reporter of the private TV channel Channel-i, the Daily Sun and an online news portal, died of a massive heart attack at a Brooklyn hospital in New York, the USA on Monday at the age of 50.
