Authorities suspended all the flight operations at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Saturday due to bad weather as cyclone 'Roanu' moved towards Bangladesh's coastal areas.
All the flight operations at the airport were suspended at 10:30 am on Saturday, said airport manager wing commander Mohammad Reazul Kabir.
He also said the flight operations will remain suspended till the situation improves.
The cyclonic storm, 'Roanu', is likely to move in East-northeasterly direction further and may cross Barisal-Chittagong coast anytime soon, causing a storm surge of 4-5 feet height above normal tide.
The maritime ports of Chittagong, Mongla and Paira have been advised to keep hoisted danger signal number seven (r) seven.
