An elderly man was crushed under the wheels of a train at Asgram Rahir Dhal in Paba upazila of Rajshahi district on Friday.

Witnesses said a Rajshahi-bound train from Rahanpur hit Abdus Sattar Gujon, 75, a resident of Shah Makhdum area of the city, while he was crossing the rail track around 7 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Railway police said they recovered the body and sent it to local hospital for autopsy.
