No scattered power connection to fairs during Ramadan: Towfiq

Prime Minister's Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Affairs Adviser Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikram, today asked officials concerned for remaining alert about scattered electricity connections to fairs during the Holy Ramadan.

"If the switches of air conditioners remain off at iftar time, then the electricity would be saved," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting during the ongoing summer and the upcoming Holy month of Ramadan at Bidyut Bhaban.

Chaired by State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by representatives of various stakeholders including home ministry, commerce ministry, agriculture ministry and industries ministry.

The adviser asked all officials concerned for remaining alert about scattered fairs.

Nasrul Hamid urged all for avoiding illumination during the fasting month. Nasrul sought cooperation of all for reducing power consumption to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Ramadan.
