Tk 50,000 bounty declared to identify attacker

Police have declared a prize of Tk 50,000 for information leading to the identification of the youth who died while allegedly carrying out a suicide bomb attack on an Ahmadiyya mosque in Bagmara upazila in December last.

Besides, another bounty to the tune of Tk 50,000 was announced for information about the accomplice of the deceased who also took part in the attack.

The announcement was made at a press briefing at the office of superintendent of police on Thursday.

The decision was taken as the investigators have failed to identify the suicide bomb attacker even after four months into the incident.

Police had sent the photo of the deceased suicide bomb attacker to all the 64 districts and his fingerprint to the Election Commission (EC), but in vain.

Earlier on December 25, a young man was killed and eight others injured in a bomb blast at an Ahmadiyya mosque in Mochmoil area of Bagmara upazila.

Two more youths were waiting in a motorcycle near the mosque during the attack. Police managed photograph of one of them. However, they could not get his identity.
