11 teachers held for supplying answers to SSC examinees

11 teachers held for supplying answers to SSC examinees

Police arrested 11 schoolteachers and a student on charge of supplying answers to SSC examinees after leaking a question paper during mathematics examination at an examination centre in Bagha upazila in Rajshahi district on Tuesday.


Police said Abdul Kader, secretary of Bagha Islami Academy High School examination centre, assigned Rafiqul Islam, an assistant teacher, to bring the question papers from Bagha Police Station in the morning.


Rafiqul Islam, however, stole a question paper and handed it to the teachers.


Later, the teachers made the solutions to the questions at the office of Prochesta-92, a volunteer organisation, near Bagha Islami Academy High School centre, and were supplying those to their students inside the centre.


On information, assistant commissioner (land) and executive magistrate Shimul Akter and officer-in-charge of Bagha Police Station Ali Mahmud rushed in and arrested the 11 teachers and a student from the Prochesta office around 12:30 pm.


The arrestees are Zinnat Ali, headmaster of Jotnashi High School, its assistant teachers Zillur Rahman and Faruk Hossain; Akram Hossain, headmaster of Baniapara High School; Shahidul Islam, assistant teacher of Dadpur Gargari High School, Zillur Islam of Khanpur High School, Akteruzzaman, Shapla Khatun of Chandipur High School, Jahangir Mollah of Barokhadia High School, Rafiqul Islam of Palashi Fatehpur High School, Shakhawat of Tepukuria High School, and Sakib Hossain, a student.


Later, a court sent the arrestees to jail after police produced them before it in the evening, the OC.
