Being optimistic BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday said her party will get 80 per cent votes if fair election is held. She demanded army deployment for fair and neutral municipal polls on December 30.
She made the demand while addressing a rally of freedom fighters, organised by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal, marking the Victory Day at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh this afternoon.
Terming the incumbent chief election commissioner as ‘spineless’ and ‘worthless’ person, Khaleda Zia said we can’t expect any good thing from him.
Khaleda alleged that the EC did not take any actions after repeated complaints of election code violation by the ruling party men.
The BNP chief also alleged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina charging violation of the election code.
She said the government is using police as partisan force.
Many police and civil administration officers want fair election but they are hapless and fear losing their jobs and harassment, she said.
