UGC to arrange training for university PR officials

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Mamun Ahmed on Thursday said the commission will organise a day-long training workshop for public relations officers of universities to strengthen their professional skills and improve the promotion of the commission's activities.
He stated that guidance has been given to the relevant officials of the commission in this regard. He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of the Bangladesh Public University Public Relations Association (BAPUPRA) at his office.
He said stronger public relations and cooperation from university PR officers were essential to effectively disseminate the commission's new initiatives.
The delegation, led by BAPUPRA President Dr Mahiuddin Ahmed Suman and General Secretary Shamsul Alam Shibli, also discussed introducing academic programmes in public relations.
The association's leaders presented the UGC chairman with a crest and its organisational profile.
