Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Tangail district unit on Saturday organised a discussion meeting at Haji Abul Hossain High School to raise awareness among students about preventing juvenile crime and gang culture and encourage them to stay away from drugs and criminal activities.
The meeting focused on the harmful impacts of juvenile gangs, social degradation, drug addiction and ways to guide adolescents towards positive and constructive activities.
Speakers said adolescence is a crucial stage of life and proper guidance and a supportive environment can help young people become responsible citizens.
They also said law enforcement alone cannot prevent juvenile crime and gang culture, stressing coordinated initiatives by families, educational institutions, communities and social organisations.
They further emphasised parental supervision and friendly relationships with children and urged students to engage in sports, reading and healthy social, cultural and creative activities alongside their studies.
Speakers at the programme included Haji Abul Hossain High School Headmaster Md Monowar Hossain, Assistant Teachers Azharul Islam and Jihadul Momen Julhas, Shuvosangho Tangail District Branch President Md Nasir Uddin, General Secretary Meheboob Islam Ruman and Chhatra Dal Leader Rana Ahmed.
Former Tangail Municipality Ward No. 9 councillor Md Abdur Razzak was also present.
Students pledged to stay away from criminal activities and focus on their studies and other constructive activities.
