Awareness campaign on dengue held in Khulna

Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Saturday organised a dengue awareness programme involving over 100 students at a private educational institution in Khulna to raise public awareness and help prevent the spread of the disease.
Masks were also distributed among the students at the programme.
Teacher Md Zubayer, Shuvosangho Khulna district branch President Bipul Roy Chowdhury, General Secretary GM Abu Musa, Adviser and Kaler Kantho staff correspondent Kaushik De, upazila Shuvosangho Vice President Doyal Krishna Sana and others attended the programme.
Speaking at the programme, the speakers said medical treatment alone is not enough to prevent dengue and stressed the need for awareness and preventive measures. Destroying Aedes mosquito breeding grounds can significantly reduce the risk of dengue, they added.
They also urged students to share their knowledge with family members, friends, neighbours and others in their communities, saying awareness among students can help protect families and communities.
The students were informed about how dengue spreads, Aedes breeding grounds, ways to prevent mosquito breeding and precautions to follow if someone contracts dengue. 
They were also urged to keep homes, educational institutions and surrounding areas clean.
