Prime Minister’s Education Adviser Mahdi Amin said on Saturday that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are being given priority in textbooks for classes 6 to 10.
He said the four elements of STEM work in sync in an interconnected world and that such synchronisation is needed to create skilled manpower, new entrepreneurs and citizens suitable for future employment.
Mahdi made the remarks while speaking at a plenary session at the “Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026”, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Novotheatre in the capital’s Bijoy Sarani area.
He said the initiative had been taken following the PM’s directives to prepare future generations with more skills and abilities. Mahdi said STEM needs to be prioritised not only at the secondary and higher secondary levels but also at the tertiary or higher education level.
