Chattogram city is set to celebrate the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi with the 55th Jashne Julush, a procession marking the holy occasion, on 26 August.
The organisers, Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadia Sunnia Trust, announced the programme at a press conference at a city restaurant, where its Senior Vice-President Manzur Alam delivered the welcome speech and Secretary General Muhammad Anwar Hossain read out a written statement.
According to the trust, the procession, to be led by Allama Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah (MJA), one of the Sajjadanashins of Darbar-e-Sirikot, will begin at 8am from Alamgir Khanqah-e-Qaderia Syedia Tayebia in Sholashahar. Sahebzada Syed Muhammad Qasem Shah (MJA) and Sahjada Syed Muhammad Aqib Shah (MJA) will also attend the procession. The procession will pass through major city streets before ending at Julush Maidan adjacent to Jamea Ahmadia Sunnia Kamil Madrasa, where a milad, naat-e-Rasul (PBUH), Zuhr prayers and a doa mahfil will be held from noon.
The trust says around 10,000 volunteers would work during the event, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people, as it does every year.
The organisers also said that Jashne Julush would be held in Dhaka on 23 August.
