Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed held a discussion on parliamentary democracy with representatives of the British High Commission and US-based electoral reform organisation Democracy International.
The discussion took place after a joint delegation from the two institutions paid a courtesy call on the home minister at his Secretariat office on Thursday.
The four-member delegation was led by Louise Beynon, governance adviser at the British High Commission. Other members were Ryan Duncanson, political counsellor at the High Commission; Aminul Ehsan, chief of party at Democracy International Bangladesh; and Lipika Biswas, senior programme director at the organisation.
Apart from the development of democratic culture, the meeting also included discussions on the proposed Cyber Protection (Amendment) Act 2026.
