Robotics technology is changing rapidly with time. As a matter of fact, we should move through the change and accommodate ourselves with the modern robotics technology. The most important consideration is to understand the trends of the change. To update yourself with the change, research articles on robotics need to be read. Having read them you can find out the concepts of where researches can be done in future. Recently, in developed countries, a new culture is followed. Before starting the researches on robotics, research oriented people are engaged to write a review article on a specific topic of robotics to recommend where the opportunities are to continue the future research. If you can write a high quality review paper, then you can create the prospect to publish this article in an international refereed journal. Obviously, it will be your great contributions and achievement in the scientific world. You can also participate in different conferences on robotics, such as, ICRA (IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation), IROS (IEEE\RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems), ROBIO (IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics), AIM (IEEE\ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics), ICMA (IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation) and Humanoid (IEEE International Conference on Humanoid Robots). If you participate in these conferences, you can meet with the eminent robotics scholars and other robotics and automation professionals. You can share the knowledge in expert panel discussions and create the new ideas for your future research on robotics. Another thing is that, by interacting with them, you can propose collaborative researches, seeking jobs and creating opportunity for your higher study and researches.
The National Robotics Week Advisory Council, USA, explains why robotics technology is important in the following way: “Robotics technology is a growing industry which creates high-tech jobs in the US. [It] is helping to improve healthcare, national defense, homeland security, energy, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, agriculture, education, consumer goods, and many other sectors. Robotics provides an exciting, hands-on way for students to learn Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.”
Robotics has a significant role in global economy and everyday life. Another concern of robotics research is to be competitive and design patents for global industries according to their nature of applications. The demand of robotics technology is expanding in wide range of applications and human activities, especially for manufacturing, medical, service, defense, and consumer industries.
Although no robotics industry has been established yet in our country, it can be believed that there are a lot of opportunities to develop robotics industries in Bangladesh. The most pleasant point is that the young generations of Bangladesh have already proved their creativity for constructing multi-dimensional robots. In most of the cases the designed robots are prototype in nature. But even now infrastructure is not created for robotics research. In this context, the young generation should engage themselves in applied and basic research in robotics.
To motivate the students, researchers and other academicians, national robotics award should be announced for creative contributions in robotics. The government should take the initiatives or encourage the industrialists to develop robotics industry in our country. It can positively affect the economic growth as well as minimize the unemployment problems. The public universities should open the Department or Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering. Moreover it is important to form a robotic society in our country. Most of the developed countries has formed Robotics Society, for examples, Robotics Society of Japan, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Robotics Society of India, Society of Robotic Surgery, Korea Robotics Society, Robotics Society of Southern California, The British Automation & Robot Association etc. Likewise, the researchers in Bangladesh should think about the idea of forming Bangladesh Robotics Society as well. Finally, it can be said that the coordination among different academicians, students and industrialists in the country will be possible if we can form such a society, which will in turn shape our robotics industry.
