TraumaLink on Tuesday celebrated the grand opening of ‘Trauma First Aid Service’ on the 20-km stretch of the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Manikganj. Md Abdul Matin, Deputy Secretary of Local Government Branch, was present as the chief guest while columnist and journalist Syed Abul Maksud, Uttam Kumar Sarkar, and Md Habibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Golra Highway Thana, Manikganj attended it as the special guests. In his speech, Md Abdul Matin said: “I would like to thank TraumaLink for expanding their operations in Manikganj. Manikganj is badly in need of this service. A large number of accidents take place on this highway.” Later, Abdul Matin gave a first aid kit to a ‘volunteer first responder’. Esha Chowdhury, TraumaLink’s Director of Operations, delivered the opening speech. She said: “We intend to expand our service to the most dangerous highways of Bangladesh.” She made a presentation of TraumaLink’s training and workshop activities which they conducted in the last three months. Speaking on the occasion, Md Habibur Rahman said, “I am very happy that an organization like TraumaLink is operating in Bangladesh to provide first aid service to victims of road accidents. I will request the highway police to cooperate with TraumaLink.”
