US ambassador greets Bangladeshi people on Pahela Baishakh

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen has extended New Year greetings to the people of Bangladesh, expressing his fondness for the country’s popular fish, hilsa.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists
after a meeting with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs on Monday.
“Happy New Year to all of you. I really enjoy eating
hilsa fish,” the ambassador said.
According to sources at the foreign ministry,
Christensen arrived at the ministry around 12:30pm and held a meeting with the
foreign minister that lasted for about an hour and a half.
Various issues, including bilateral relations, were
discussed during the meeting, sources added.
