professionalism, dedication and coordinated efforts of Bangladesh Police in
maintaining law and order during the election period.

the introduction of a security “pocket book” for officers — played an effective
role in ensuring orderly election security.
On behalf of the EU Election Observation Mission,
Clayton presented a letter of appreciation to the IGP in recognition of the
police force’s role in maintaining stability during the election process.
Fakir, in his remarks, appreciated the role of
foreign election observers during the polls.
He said Bangladesh Police had taken necessary
measures to ensure the safety and security of foreign observers and journalists
who came to the country from different nations, organisations and institutions
to monitor the election.
Senior officials of Bangladesh Police were also present

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope
that cooperation between Bangladesh Police and the EU Election Observation
Mission would be further strengthened in the future.
