AFC Women’s Asian Cup QualifiersHosts face tough task against Iran→ Sports Reporter
Bangladesh team goalkeepers take part in a training session at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium on Wednesday.
The Bangladesh women’s national football team will face the Iranian women’s national football team in their second match of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers competition at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka at 7 pm today.

Previously, the hosts lost to the mighty Thailand women’s national football team by an enormous 9-0 goal margin on Tuesday.

Nisa Romyen of Thailand scored four goals among the nine-goal rout to frustrate the Bangladeshi eves in their opener of the ongoing AFC event.

The head coach of Bangladesh, Syed Golam Jilani played with a very defensive formation looking at the Thai team’s attacking potential but, it was a complete failure as Bangladeshi defenders failed to cope with the pressure of Thai forwards and midfielders conceding nine goals.

“Losing by nine goals is always painful, but I will try to boost my team for the next match. Our girl’s lost their match concentration with the continuous attacking threats from the Thai opponents,” said the head coach of Bangladesh at the post match press conference on Tuesday.

The coach also assured that they will try to perform better and perhaps prove themselves in the remaining two matches.

Meanwhile, the Iranian team who will face the hosts today are very determined to come back strong after an unexpected 6-0 defeat against the Philippines team on Tuesday.

Iran team was supposed to win or at least perform lot better considering their rankings. But, the 83rd ranked Maltidas team humiliated the 53rd ranked Iranians by six goal margin showing the lack of attitude in Iran defense.

Iran team conceded an own goal and two more goals due to their defensive errors. After digesting five goals in the first half, Iran played lot better in the second half but failed to score any goal on Tuesday.

Iran team head coach Helena Costa promised to perform better in the remaining matches with some different tactics and hopeful to finish the tournament with a high note.

Bangladesh Television (BTV) will live telecast the clash between Banglash and Iran.
