Financial Tit-BitsPresident for increasing trade with Cuba
  President Zillur Rahman yesterday expressed his keen interest to increase trade and commerce relation between Bangladesh and Cuba.

President Rahman made the remarks while newly appointed Ambassador of Cuba to Bangladesh Abelardo Cueto Sosa presented his credentials to him at Bangabhaban here.

Welcoming the new envoy at Bangabhaban, the President said Cuba is a trusted friend of Bangladesh and expressed his satisfaction over the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.

He recalled the support of Cuba during the country’s Liberation War in 1971. He conveyed his gratitude to the government and people of Cuba for their support in achieving the country’s independence.

Zillur Rahman said Bangladesh is a democratic and peace-loving country that never indulges in any sort of terrorist activities. The mass media are fully enjoying freedom here, he said. —BSS
